We started last week to talk about one of the longest companies in the automotive sector: BMW. This company has impressed over time due to car performance models in terms of technical attributes, but also due to the impressive design.

And we cannot speak of the history of BMW without remembering the model 335. This car was created to be used on highways, at rather high speeds, somewhere in 1937. Then it followed a difficult time for the BMW, because the company lost the Eisenach factory. Therefore, only in 1951 did the BMW launched a new model, respectively 501. It was called «Angelo Barocco», due to its curved lines.

BMW 507 – A model with an impressive body

After the war, the attention of the company has concentrated again on sports cars. The BMW 507 appeared, with two seats and a fairly elegant design. The BMW 507 was sold for the first time to a noble German origin, affected by the fact that the car reaches up to 200 km/ h. In addition to the good speed, the car has affected the quality body, considered one of the best so far.

After 507, other impressive models were the BMW 1500, followed by 1800, a similar model, but with a 90 HP engine.
The BMW 2002 Turbo Car, as indicated by the name, was the first car in Europe to own a turbo engine. It represented a revolutionary aspect for industry, due to good attributes.

The BMW Series E21 is considered a real symbol of the brand. He manages to harmoniously combine luxury and comfort, since BMW has become accustomed to his customers since ancient times. Therefore, this model has imposed a series of series standards for all the cars of the class.

Launch of BMW M1 models

The year 1978 was marked by the launch of the BMW M1 models. These were inspired by the BMW Turbo collections, but have obtained a totally different design from what the company had until then. Their main purpose was speed.

Between 1980 and 1983 BMW was ventured into the car racing sector. In particular, the company has targeted as Formula 1, convincing famous pilots to try their cars. And with this, the E30 M3 received an interesting name: «Caleasca of God», the duty that managed to win many races.

The BMW i8 is destined to remain in history. And not only in the history of the company, as natural, but also in the history of the car in general. This is a clear proof of the combination of two higher attributes: futuristic aspect and good performance. Its 350 hp engine is impressive.

In 2003, BMW took an important step in its development as a company: it took Rolls-Royce motor cars, which led to the increase in revenue. As for the activity in Romania, it can be said that the manufacturer is quite good.

Other interesting things about the BMW

The acronym of the BMW, which I explained above, has other figurative meanings, assigned by those who sympathize or detect this brand. Therefore, you can also satisfy explanations such as: «BMW – be my wife/ BMW – beyond my wages/ BMW – barely movement» and the list can continue. In any case, when it comes to the acronym BMW, the fans of the main opponents have an unlimited imagination.

It is also interesting that the name of BMW is also linked to the production of kitchen and garden tools. More precisely, after the Second World War, the company wanted a development in this sector, but its attention moved to the cars.
