The upper part of the safest cars in the world since 2021 has been made by Euro NCAP.
Although this year it was very difficult for the automotive industry due to the deficit of the parties, which influenced the terms of development, production and sales, an impressive number of new cars appeared. Many of these were hybrid or electric cars, which managed to obtain a 5 -star evaluation despite the demanding requirements.
The upper part of the safest cars in the world made by Euro NCAP for 2021 is carried out as follows:
Luxury class
- Mercedes – EQ EQS – 5 EURO NCAP stele
- 96% for the protection of adult passengers;
- 91% for the protection of children’s passengers;
- 76% for the protection of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists;
- 80% for the protection of security systems.
This model has a determined form of aerodynamic considerations, but nevertheless the appearance is not what it defines, but the security it gives.
EQ EQS also won the ranking of electric cars, being the only model that came out victorious in two categories.
The large SUV class
- Skoda Enyaq IV – 5 Euro NCAP stele
- 94% for the protection of adult passengers;
- 89% for the protection of children’s passengers;
- 71% for the protection of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists;
- 82% for the protection of security systems.
Although Enyaq is an average SUV model to be removed from categories, Euro Ncap has grouped more cars in the same «model».
The class of small and compact SUVs
- Nissan Qashqi – 5 EURO NCAP stele
- 91% for the protection of adult passengers;
- 91% for the protection of children’s passengers;
- 70% for the protection of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists;
- 95% for the protection of security systems.
This model recently launched how safe the CMF platform of the Renault group is.
Small class family machine
- Skoda Fabia – 5 Euro NCAP stele
- 85% for the protection of adult passengers;
- 81% for the protection of children’s passengers;
- 70% for the protection of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists;
- 71% for the protection of security systems.
Skoda is the only producer who has two winning models and scores obtained from the new Fabia show that a small door can give excellent protection in an impact.
Crossover class
- Toyota Yaris Cross – 5 Stars Euro NCAP
- 86% for the protection of adult passengers;
- 84% for the protection of children’s passengers;
- 78% for the protection of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists;
- 81% for the protection of security systems.
This model combines the bold with the sophisticated one, providing a wide view of the road.
Due to the changes that take place in the tests, the results for the upper part of the safest cars in 2021 should not be compared with those of the past years.
In addition, the models proposed in each category must not be compared to each other, since the results are designed exclusively within the segments of each.

Euro NCAP continues to set the standard for automotive safety, evaluating vehicles to ensure they meet rigorous protection criteria for passengers and pedestrians alike. Since 2021, their assessments have highlighted the safest cars in the world, providing valuable guidance for consumers and encouraging manufacturers to prioritize safety innovations. Even in a challenging year marked by supply chain disruptions and production delays, the automotive industry delivered an impressive array of new vehicles, many of which were hybrid or electric models.
The fact that numerous new cars achieved a 5-star rating despite stricter testing requirements reflects the industry’s commitment to safety and technological advancement. Features such as advanced driver assistance systems, improved structural designs, collision avoidance technologies, and pedestrian protection mechanisms contributed to these high scores. These innovations not only protect occupants in the event of an accident but also actively help prevent collisions, enhancing overall road safety.
Hybrid and electric vehicles, in particular, demonstrate that sustainable transportation can coexist with top-tier safety standards. Manufacturers have successfully integrated eco-friendly technologies without compromising the protective measures that Euro NCAP evaluates, showing that environmental responsibility and passenger safety are not mutually exclusive goals.
In conclusion, Euro NCAP’s evaluations remain a crucial benchmark for vehicle safety, guiding consumers toward the most reliable and protective cars on the market. Despite industry challenges, the emergence of new hybrid and electric models achieving 5-star ratings proves that innovation, safety, and sustainability can advance hand in hand. By prioritizing these aspects, both manufacturers and drivers contribute to safer roads and a more secure driving experience for everyone.
